I surge to renovate a heart that’s dead
Handed my sunshine on all its roots
Breastfed it with my ocean of solace
Wore its emptiness like a jewel
I’ve endeavored to salvage what’s gone
Dried my jollity, like a raisin in the sun
And in trying to save what’s dead
I lost myself within its shells.
