I prayed for the sun

To know me the ways darkness does

Crawl my shells and twist my eyelids

Forge my sensitivity like a new blade

But don’t wear my skin, it’s too heavy

Meet me at my sublimity

By the sleep of my shadow

On the split of a mini second

Between poetry and the seasons

And have me ride on your moonlight

Lend a thought to my living

But know this, I don’t live there

Have your eyes say “I love you”

As you feed muffins to my purdah

Pencil all of your heart on the skies

Exactly at 4pm.
